The Balance of Form and Function.
Full Mouth Restorations in Little Falls, NJ
There are times when the mouth is severely broken down –
- Teeth are worn, chipped, broken, missing, crooked, decayed
- The jaw is out of alignment, causing TMJ pain
In cases such as these, more than cosmetic dentistry is required. In fact, if only cosmetic enhancements are made without diagnosing and treating the underlying causes of all the problems mentioned above, the problems will continue to occur.
In these cases, Dr. Liss may recommend a Full Mouth Restoration.
Full Mouth Restoration goes beyond the “appearance” of the teeth, and focuses first on the function of the teeth and position of the jaw.
If the jaw is out of alignment, the biting forces are off. This causes teeth to wear unevenly, break, chip; it also causes restorations to fail. It can also cause a variety of painful symptoms, including headaches, jaw pain, back pain and more.
First Dr. Liss will assess the alignment of your jaw. If it is found to be out of balance, there are a variety of treatment options available to restore it to optimal position, including splint therapy.
Once the jaw is aligned, Dr. Liss will turn his attention to the “form” of the smile. He will beautifully restore all the affected teeth with the necessary treatments, including:
- Porcelain veneers
- Inlays and onlays
- Partial dentures
Once treatment is complete, your smile will be healthy, comfortable and attractive.
