For optimal oral health, Dr. Liss recommends you visit every 6 months for a cleaning and checkup. On your first visit, and then every three years, Dr. Liss and his team will conduct a comprehensive oral exam that includes:

The frequency of your visits (every 6 months) combined with advanced diagnostic technologies, allows Dr. Liss to detect problems while they’re small. Smaller problems are not only easier to fix, the process of restoration is also more comfortable and affordable.

The intra-oral camera is a pen-sized tool that takes video of your teeth and projects the live image onto a monitor in the treatment room. This image is magnified, allowing Dr. Liss to better see and detect any decay, cracked or leaking fillings or other problems, and helps him diagnose and treat problems earlier than was ever before possible.
Digital x-rays take a picture of your teeth, which are immediately seen on a computer monitor. This large, color-enhanced image lets Dr. Liss get a better picture of your oral health, allowing for earlier treatment. Most importantly, digital x-rays significantly decrease the exposure time to radiation.
The panoramic X-ray gives a broad overview of the entire mouth. This X-ray supplies information about the teeth, upper and lower jawbone, sinuses, and other hard and soft tissues of the head and neck. One advantage of the panoramic X-ray is its comfort. The Pan takes images from a machine that moves around your head.
Left undetected or untreated, cavities and tooth decay can lead to infections, abscesses and more. For early detection of such problems Dr. Liss uses the DIAGNOdent laser.
A cavity-detecting device, this advanced laser can detect decay earlier than more conventional methods, such as traditional X-rays. It can find 50 percent of the decay that goes undetected by radiography without exposing you to radiation.
